The Importance of AISI 304 and AISI 316 Stainless Steel Cladding
The most commonly used austenitic stainless steels are those with high corrosion resistance and strength, combined with excellent formability. Thanks to their superior cold and hot forming processes and performance, they can be used in both cold and hot environments. The reason for using AISI 304 and AISI 316 stainless steel cladding in Magneteksan products is that it prevents the formation of harmful corrosive layers. It achieves this by forming a highly protective layer on the material surface.
A significant advantage of these austenitic stainless steels is that the chromium content in their composition is around 10% of the total. The direct interaction of chromium with oxygen immediately leads to the formation of a protective layer. The formation of a highly resistant surface layer means that no corrosive layer can form. Another advantage of these stainless steel claddings is their water resistance. This ensures that they provide flawless functionality.
