Mining Recycling Industry

maden sektörü

Our company specializes in producing magnets for the mining industry, offering guaranteed magnetic systems. Various types of minerals are produced and processed in our country, and magnetic systems play a valuable role in this sector.

We manufacture magnetic systems with desired Gauss levels, ranging from 1,000 Gauss to 16,000 Gauss. These magnetic rods, used in various separation processes, are specially designed for the mining industry.

What is Mining?

Mining is the process of extracting and processing materials with added value, such as ores, industrial raw materials, minerals, and fuel products, from the earth.

Magnetic Separation in Mines

Magnetic separation is the process of using magnetic force to remove metallic or ferromagnetic materials from raw materials. It involves placing magnetic separators in vibrating feeder trays, on conveyor belts, or in discharge areas. Metallic particles within the materials that come into contact with the magnetic separator are easily separated from the system by the high magnetic field.

Importance of Magnetic Separators

One of the major challenges in extracting valuable minerals is the separation of unwanted materials. In the mining industry, whether it’s open-pit or underground mining, a large amount of worthless product or low-value minerals and unusable materials are extracted. Separating these materials from valuable products is difficult. Magnetic separation using magnets is one of the most commonly used methods.

Benefits of Magnetic Separation in Mines and Recycling

Magnetic separation has been used in mining for over a century. It is typically used to remove unwanted foreign objects from raw materials. In the mining industry, it is used for separating man-made foreign materials, known as “tramp ore,” from raw materials. Materials like cables, sledgehammers, U-bolts, nails, or broken metal fragments that emerge after blasting with dynamite need to be removed to prevent damage to the system.

Machines used for magnetic separation are often placed in areas that directly contact the product or in product discharge lines. Sharp metal fragments can damage the material of the conveyor belt, while materials like sledgehammers or U-bolts falling into crushers can damage their teeth. This results in unwanted downtime, repair costs, and labor, causing significant harm to the operation.

The magnetic separation systems we produce can be easily adapted to existing conveyor systems. We can provide a proposal along with a project by conducting the necessary work for custom design manufacturing as needed.

What Magnets Are Used in Mines?

When deciding on the magnetic separation device to be used in mines, the type of metal to be separated and the product capacity should be considered. There are two types of magnetic separators used in mines and recycling:

  1. Permanent Magnet Magnetic Separation Systems
  2. Electromagnetic Magnetic Separation Systems

Electromagnetic systems utilize the magnetic field generated by converting alternating current to direct current. These separators are generally used to separate large metal pieces. Mounted on conveyor belts, they attract and remove metal pieces passing underneath through the magnetic field. They can be produced with an automatic cleaning system, where metal pieces adhering to the surface are separated to the desired area without manual intervention. Thanks to the electromagnet feature, they can also separate metal pieces by cutting off the energy.

Permanent magnets naturally generate a magnetic field due to their production method. While not as strong as electromagnets, they interact with ferromagnetic materials. Permanent magnetism originates from alloys of Nickel, Cobalt, and Iron, and today they can affect materials like stainless steel. Systems that affect diamagnetic materials like stainless steel, copper, and aluminum are called Eddy-current separators.

Our range of magnets specifically designed for the mining industry includes:

Plate Magnets

Plate magnets are placed on the conveyor belt and attract metals from the food passing underneath. These plate magnets, which we produce from neodymium magnets, have incredible power and attract even metal powders. We also have measurement service for magnets that need Gauss measurement every year.
