Powerful Neodymium Grate Magnets: The Hidden Heroes of Industrial Purification

Grate magnets work like invisible heroes in production processes. These magnets improve product quality by separating iron particles and metal residues from produced materials. Usually placed at product transition points, these magnets capture unwanted metal particles as materials pass over them. Double-row and staggered grate systems maximize separation efficiency by ensuring products contact the magnet twice.

Our magnetic grate magnets, made from AISI304L or AISI316L stainless steel, are preferred in many sectors, especially the food industry, and can be produced with strengths up to 13500 Gauss. We offer special designs resistant to temperatures up to 250°C for high-temperature applications.

Our product range offers solutions from standard models to custom designs. Various options are available, such as models with external casings and wheels, and designs specific to injection molding machines. Our grate magnets, produced with 25 and 32 mm diameter bars for use in liquid environments with a completely leak-proof structure, have the ability to capture even the finest metal dust.

Grid Magnet Types

Types of Magnetic Grid Magnets

Completely stainless, leak-proof, and liquid-suitable magnetic grid magnets are primarily used to capture unwanted metal dust in factories producing feed and powder. This product, which allows for the removal of unwanted metals, can even attract invisible metal dust in the air. Magnetic sieve magnets mounted on outlet pipes or areas where product flows are poured easily attract metals from poured food, glass, ceramics, and plastic products.

Grid magnets, preferred more by the food production and plastic recycling sectors, are covered with AISI 304 and AISI 316 stainless steel. This product, highly resistant to corrosion, is known as very strong magnets with high Gauss values. Magneteksan magnetic grids are very effective in removing fine iron contamination from free-flowing products such as emulsions, liquids, granules, and powders. They are easy to clean and can be easily placed at product entry and exit points and in containers.

What is a Grid (Grate) Magnet? Where is it Used?

The grid (grate) magnet, with a maximum operating temperature of 80°C or preferably 150°C, is used to separate iron particles mixed with dry, granular, or free-flowing material. This permanent magnetic grate is produced completely stainless and using magnetic bars inside. These frames can be round, square, or rectangular. In other words, these magnetic grates consist of magnetic elements attached to a frame of the required size.

Magnetic elements consist of hard ferrite ceramic magnets or high-density rare earth neodymium magnets. All components are made of stainless steel 304 and 316 material. The general structure of the Magnetic Grate can be created according to customer specifications and desired dimensions. Grates are efficiently used when the contamination weight is between 1% and 1.5%. For higher contamination levels, drawer grates or multi-drawer grates should be used.

Areas of Use for Grid Magnets

Industries using magnetic grid magnets can be listed as follows:

  • Plastic and glass industry
  • Food products (sugar, coffee, tea, grains, legumes, flour, spices, milk)
  • Pharmaceutical industry
  • Chemical industry
  • Ceramic and paint industry
  • Ink industry
  • Mineral
  • Ceramic production industry
  • Marble and stone production
  • Chewing gum production industry
  • Packaging industry
  • Textile sector

Types of Grate-Type Magnetic Grid Magnets

As a leading company in this sector, we offer a wide range of grate-type magnetic sieve magnets. These grates are commonly used for removing iron contamination from free-flowing substances such as tea and coffee. They are developed by our experts using high-quality components and modern technology according to market standards. Magneteksan accurately examines numerous quality parameters to ensure the high performance of magnetic grates.

Our products with high efficiency, great quality, and anti-wear properties consist of four types. These four types are low density, medium density, high density, and super high density. The low-density magnetic grate with a value of approximately 2,500 Gauss is ideal for holding contaminants such as nuts, bolts, screws, and broken washers. These grates are designed to attract larger iron pieces from a relatively greater distance.

The medium-density magnetic grate, with a value of approximately 5000 Gauss in coal magnet and 12000 Gauss in neodymium magnet, is used in cases where contamination is in particle form. However, there may or may not be a continuous flow of material to be separated. The contamination size can be as low as 150 microns but not lower than that. The material should be free-flowing and not sticky.

The neodymium magnetic grate is used where separation of contamination particles as small as 1 micron is required. These sieve magnets are designed to attract super fine particles from the carrier material. Super high-density magnetic grates have a value of approximately 12,000 Gauss.

Regular cleaning of all four types of grates is mandatory. It is recommended to thoroughly clean the grate before each pass or as planned according to users’ requirements and experiences. Prolonged accumulation of iron particles reduces the effectiveness of the grate. The grate must be completely clean for maximum attraction.
